About me

My Life, My Rules

My name is Renee Gorgoglione, and I came to Mallorca in 1984 to start a new life. No joke, I really wanted to sell melons on the beach. So there I was, without papers and without a residence permit (I wasn’t an EU citizen at the time). This led to many stories and, in the end, a life on the island. Today, I live here with my Mallorcan family, my daughter, and my grandchildren, and together with my partner Hamid, I run Tapas y Más, where life is colorful.

My story

Before Tapas y Más came into being, I had many years of hard work, courage, and willpower behind me. Bars, discos, restaurants, and a beach club—all places that I built up and then sold again because I never shied away from tackling something new.

My recipe for success

I’m not the kind of boss who hides away. I prefer to be right in the thick of things. For me, it’s clear that respect is not a one-way street. At Tapas y Más, there is no shouting, but rather cooperation on equal terms. Discipline, passion, and sometimes a little bit of madness are part of it for me. My team is my backbone. Without these people, Tapas y Más would not be what it is, and our guests feel that too. Here, people laugh, talk, and celebrate.
